FAQ's

How do I clean my protective eyewear without scratching the lens?

Polycarbonate lenses have revolutionized the eyewear industry because the lenses
are optical-quality, lightweight and relatively inexpensive. They do, however need special care.
If your eyewear did not come with specific cleaning instructions, clean in the following manner:

Wash with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse clean and remove excess water with a soft
tissue or cloth. Do not use ammonia, alkaline cleaners, solvents or abrasive cleaning compounds.
DO NOT AUTOCLAVE.

You can also use a cleaning product specially formulated for use on plastic lenses.
Our "Super-Clear" is such a product.

What is anti-fog coating?

Anti-fog coating is a factory-applied protective layer that prevents the lens from fogging in warm,
moist work environments or cold work places. Some coatings of this type also guard against scratching, static and chemical attack. Such a coating is DX Hard Coat. In a hospital or dental
office environment, protective eyewear with anti-fog coating can make a world of viewing
difference.

What is a polycarbonate lens?

Polycarbonate is a plastic first developed for the aerospace industry for windows and helmet
face-plates. As a result of much research and development, this modern space-age material
has been highly refined and is now used for making eyeglasses. Polycarbonate lenses ar
e more impact resistant than any other lens material. In addition to the safety advantages,
these lenses are lightweight, have a built-in UV inhibitor and are scratch resistant.

What is ANSI Z87.1?

ANSI is the acronym for the American Standards Institute, a non-profit organization that
serves as administrator of the US private sector voluntary standardization system.
The ANSI Z87.1 standard sets forth requirements for the design, construction, testing and
use of eye protection devices, including standards for impact and penetration resistance.
All safety glasses, goggles, and face shields used by employees under OSHA jurisdiction must meet the ANSI Z87.1 standard. Only eyewear that meets the ANSI standard will be noted as such in the product's description.

If another frame of equal or greater value is purchased within 5 days, the store credit will be applied. If another trial frame purchase is not made, a 25% restocking charge will be deducted from the origingal transaction price. Only one trial frame at time will be sent. Regular S&P charges will apply to each frame sent. If the customer decides to select another frame style, the customer is responsible for paying the Shipping fees to return the frame currently held. Customer is responsible for S&P fees to send and return the new frame. The S&P fees will be at the level of our standard ground S&P rates. There is no limit to the number of trial frames the customer can purchase, but only one (1) frame at a time will be sent, and S&P fees will apply to each frame sent. Customer must use a shipping service that offers Delivery Confirmation when returning the frames.
